Comfortable

We live in a world of pretties. Even the youngest of girls feel pressure to be skinny, diet, wear make up and wear the tightest and shortest of clothes. To much of the world, pretty means just that. Beautiful is no longer being smart, having a gentle heart or a kind spirit. Beauty has become a purely physical trait. As sad as that is, it's the truth.
I've seen so many people, so many friends, starve themselves of food or exercise to the extreme, just to lose that extra 5 pounds. Is that really what's important in life? Is pretty and skinny the only way to happiness?
I think not. The most beautiful people I know aren't the skinniest. They are the ones with a smile on their face because they brightened someone's day with a joke or an act of kindness. They are the ones with a twinkle in their eye because they can feel the Spirit of God in their lives. They are the ones with bright rosy cheeks because they just got caught shoving a piece of chocolate into their mouths. The most beautiful people I know are the ones who are kind, generous, thoughtful and SMART.
The MOST beautiful people are the ones with big hearts that are comfortable and confident in being themselves.

I thank Heavenly Father everyday that I can be comfortable with myself. To tell you the truth, I know I'm not the skinniest or prettiest person on the block. I love cupcakes and Dr. Pepper. I know I need to work out, not to lose weight, but to gain muscle and be healthy. I am just glad that understand that I am a Daughter of God. I have an array of talents and qualities that no one else has. I am unique and a devoted friend. I have so much to offer the world and I believe that's what important in life. A pretty face and a flat stomach isn't something you can offer to someone else. The things that are inside you are.
That's what's important. What is inside of you and what you can do for others.

  3. You are very right friend- and you are beautiful. Inside and out. Even the most beautiful women in the world are digitally altered to be on magazines etc. If you strive for who the world wants you to be, it will never be enough. If you strive for what the Lord wants you to be, He will make up the difference. Love ya.
