Hello World
Well I have been the busiest person on the planet lately!!!
I started my Phlebotomy class at the DATC on the 3rd and have class ever Monday and Wednesday. We also cover 4 chapters a day, have to memorize all of the types of tubes, what tests they are used for and what preservetive is in the tube, plus all of the veins in the body. Lets just say I havent had this much homework since I took AP Music Theory.
We've had 4 classes so far and we started sticking people the first time. Two times ago (Monday, our 3rd class) one of the girls tried to take my blood and actually got some out of my left arm. I have a major bruise. But last night, our 4th class, another girl tired to get blood out of my other arm. She asked the teacher to come and the teacher came and looked and found that the one vein I have in my right arm crossed over my tendon. Thats potentially problematic! If you hit a tendon with a needle your entire arm can hurt and you will get a big bruise. Thats not a "might", thats a "will". Anyway, the teacher preceeded to move the tourniquet to my wrist to look for hand veins, in hope that the other students would be able to use butterfly needles on me when we started using them. She felt around on my hand and tapped it to try to get any veins to pop up. Lets just say that I have been doubed.... veinless. What an honor.
In high school, I have been working on my final project in Clothing 1. Its a quilt... and its pretty amazing. I will post a picture after this post. It was due yesterday and I have been working on it during B day lunches for a really long time now. Its taken ALOT of time to make. But i'm really proud of it.
Yesterday my friend Cameron came in during lunch while I was sewing. I thought he was just coming to tell me a story but he actually brought me a poptart and a strawberry lemonade. Chick-filet was here during lunch and he was going to get me some chicken nuggets but they sold out. I think its really sweet that he brought me lunch and stayed and talked with me while I worked. It was really nice that he kept me company. Thanks buddy.
The debate kids have been at Disneyland (i'm jealous!) but they are back now! I really missed my friends Jessica and Julia!
About two weeks ago, I started some medicine that the doctor perscribed. Its not antidepressants or antianxiety meds or anything but its made me feel a million times better.
Anyway... I think we are pretty up to date now :)
